Slavery

Students will get first hand knowledge of escape routes from the Maryland area to Canada.  Students will get an understanding of the reality of a slave on the Underground Railroad.

Create a daily journal entry over the span of two weeks.  In your journal, document a slave’s journey from safe houses to Canada. The students will cite disadvantages of being a slave, and the benefits of becoming free. Complete a reflection of their complete journey to Canada.
