What does D.I.G. stand for? Discover - The Discover portion of the activity gives the learner the mind-set and direction for the Internet activity. It puts the lesson into context and explains to the learner the task at hand. Investigate - Directs the learner to the appropriate Internet sites. This section links the learner with the information. Generate - What the learner must produce to complete the task. Procedures to create a D.I.G. 1. Locate Internet sites for students to Investigate (see Web Sites to Create D.I.G.s Link). 2. Click the Create a D.I.G. link to the left (follow directions on the page). 3. Fill in the Teacher template. 4. Copy and paste the Discover, Investigate, & Generate text from the teacher template into a new document. 5. Use the links to the left to find, images, clip art, backgrounds, ect... for your web page. 6. Using the Review Checklist have a peer review the teacher page and student web page. 7. Make necessary changes & submit you completed web page for posting on the Internet or use it in Word on individual computers. 8. Let the Web D.I.G. begin for your students!
