You have been studying the three branches of government during social studies class.  Now it is time to see what you’ve learned about each of the branches.

You will be going to The Ben’s Guide for Government website to read about the function of each branch .

Your assignment is to create a chart showing the three branches of the United States Government.  You must include the name of each branch, who or what it consist of, and the function of each branch.  In addition you must choose one of the branches to write a paragraph describing its function.

 

Assessment Method (s):

 

You will be graded on the following:

  • Your completed chart
  • Your written paragraph

 

Suggestions/Hints:

 

This can be done as a whole group lesson with the projector.  Students could have a chart in front of them and complete it as the class explores the site.  The paragraph could be a homework or independent assignment.
