Spring 2007 Technology Staff Development

For Educators in the Seaford School District

In an effort to diversify and differentiate our technology staff development we would like to offer a wide variety of opportunities for educators to hone their technology skills as well as provide time for teachers to plan for using technology with their students. Using the O.V.A.L. Technology Skill Continuum Framework as a guide, we hope to help you increase your comfort level with technology and help you effectively integrate technology into your daily instruction.

Basically, you will see two types of staff development opportunities listed below. The table highlights training sessions where district employees can polish their technology skills. These sessions will highlight operational uses of technology as well as identify ways this technology can be used in the classroom (apply newly learned skills).

The form below the table is for you to sign-up for these sessions as well as to schedule a day and time to meet with Todd to devise a plan to use technology with your students. This collaborative session can be scheduled with individuals or small groups of grade level educators. For instance, two third grade teachers could sign up to do an after-school session with Todd to devise a plan to use the handheld computers during workshop time. Or, a teacher could schedule a time to plan how to use the wireless laptops with their students. We can pay you the hourly rate for this planning time beyond the school day. Note: the stipends for these sessions will be given for a limited time due to money constraints.

  • If you attended any of these sessions over the summer or in previous years you can attend but we can't pay you again.

  • Please contact me if you have other training needs
