PowerPoint Projects

PowerPoint projects are an interesting and intriguing way for students to present material/information to teachers and classmates. PowerPoint is easily taught and quickly picked up by students. The teacher serves as a facilitator and coach while students actively control their learning. Give me a call at 302.629.4587 ext 286 or e-mail tfishburn@seaford.k12.de.us and let's get started - Todd A. Fishburn.

These student-centered projects cover numerous Content Standards and Performance Indicators including these in English/Language Arts:

  • Informative writing
  • Oral communication
  • Identify, Locate, Select
  • Organize, manipulate, express

Additional Standards can be addressed in Social Studies or Science, depending on your topic of choice.

Project progression will flow like the following:

  • Intro to PowerPoint for students and teacher (s)
  • Gathering facts/information to be presented to the class (can be done in pairs or individually)
  • Creation of story boards (rough drafts)
  • PowerPoint construction
  • Presentation to class

I will devise a rubric for grading and assist the teacher (s) with every step of the project. The time frame is about a week.
