NEW SUPERINTENDENT
ANNOUNCED
Dr. Shawn Joseph
holds an Ed.D from The George Washington University. He currently
serves as Director of School Performance in Montgomery County Public
Schools. In this position he provides leadership to thirty-four
schools serving 23,000 students. Prior to this position, he served
as a principal, assistant principal, reading specialist, and English
teacher. He has been an adjunct professor at the George Washington
University and McDaniel College. He has published several papers
and is expecting the December release of his first book.
Dr. Joseph
will officially start his new position in the Seaford School
District on February 1st.
Seaford
School Board members selected the new superintendent after an
extensive search and interview process. The candidate will replace
Dr. Russell Knorr who will be retiring June 30th after
over thirty years of service with the Seaford School District.

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
March 22, 23 and 26
for children
who will be five (5) years of age on or before August 31, 2012
.
The Seaford School District provides full-day
kindergarten in all four K-5 schools and this registration is for
all elementary schools in the Seaford School District. It is extremely
important that your child be registered for kindergarten during the
March 2012 registration and screening, so that decisions about staffing
can be made as early as possible.

The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association (DIAA) has
recognized
Seaford High School as one of 16 schools to receive its annual
Sportsmanship Award. This award weighs schools against a set
of 10 standards, not against other schools. Seaford is a
first-time recipient. |

Seaford School District Out-of-District
School Choice Statement:
We will not be able to recommend for approval any out-of-district
school choice applications for enrollment in any of our elementary
schools for the 2013-2013 school year. This includes any
applications that have been received or may be received in the
future. The reason for this is that all
of our elementary
schools are at capacity or beyond capacity. |
